Description

Another image using my Campestergum. Initially I had mushrooms and wierd sc-fi plants, and red water, but the whole thing just didn't feel right. I ended up going dead trees and sparse weeds under a cloudy sky for ambience. One of these days I'll nail doing one of those wierd alien landscapes. Apparently I suck at doing that though :P Anyways, this bugger is now in the store, and he's like the others, dynamic membranes with some pre-simulated ones. I'm thinking my next dragons will have two versions each, one dynamic, and one rigged moretraditionally. Would be a bit more work but not a lot. Thanks for looking, Cheers

Ah, keep the dynamics, they look cool and aren't hard to use. Great looking image!

Beautiful work. Have you ever considered doing pterosaurs with your dynamic membranes?

I really dig the composition and pov, and the almost silhouette style lighting really adds a nice contrast to the piece. And I definitely can relate, I have had pieces with a scene in mind that I finally just had to scrap because somewhere between my head and the screen something gets lost in translation ;)

Great dragon scene. Cool pov looking down on the dragons. They look like they are way high up. Fabulous clouds. Nice work.

Exceptional work! Couple things: 1. Even though Dynamic Clothing is pretty kool and flexible, and works brilliantly if not ingeniously for dragon wing membranes, lots of us who don't have or use Poser can use it. For me anyways, can't use it until Carrara supports dynamic cloth. I think doing two versions in the long run would be a great idea, as it'd open up your products to those of us using non-poser apps. 2. As for making sci-fi type terrain, even without some wild out of this world fauna and sky colors, I think you still acheived a very otherworldly environment effect. The volumetric clouds nicely obscure just the right amount of landscape below, so that those dead trees could be alien fauna or dead alien fauna on a non-earthern landscape.
