Description

Alright, this is a wip pic really. There are two saddles seen here, the one on the Robustus (the large pic) is mapped, and set up as a prop, though I do need to make some adjustment morphs. This will prevent the otherwise nasty stretching of metal parts in a rigged verion, and be easier to deal with, unless you are doing extended animations. But then poses with morphs can be saved to the library anyways. The shield which is part of the saddle is one of two (the other isn't made yet) as the other will have a place for the lance to jut through. There is a lance though it isn't finished. And I'm still probably going to make a bit of head armour as a means of securing reigns, though those will be optional. Behind the shield there is a bar for holding onto, and this saddle, rather than sirrups has two supports for feet. A set at the front for bracing in a dive or something, and two at the rear for hooking feet over and leaning forward. The inset picture ( a poser render ) shows the saddle on the Campestergum. Some of that has to be remapped, and there isn't room for much a shield, as it would restrict the neck movement of the dragon. But I could always make it optional. It may have reins too, and the same idea as well. Rather than a bit through the mouth, which is kind of dumb when that membrane exists in the mouth, a sort of helm with poins on either side to fix the reigns too. Also, with the campestergum there is little room for the saddle to begin with, so the wing membranes will have a texture where holes were made with possible steel rings to keep them from healing but allowing the strap from the saddle to pass through. Would be kind of cruel, but considering the way man treats some of the animals we've domesticated in reality . . . heh. Anyways, it shows off one of the textures too though not in close up, for the dragon rider armor. This is one of a set I want to do. I want to do opposing sides kind of thing, so the imperial and then something meaner and darker. This is a blue texture though for the imperial, and there will be other textures as well, notably brown and more utilitarian. Red and Green could work too, but that could be free addons or something. Anyways, just wanted to show what I have so far. Thanks for looking! Cheers Swidhelm

Intriguing saddle. Very cool pose for your dragon to show it and the rider off nicely. Great lighting.

wind resistance on the robustus shield would be counter productive and the air flow redirected into the rider's face but the second one looks brilliant looking forward to the finished products hopefully they will fit the skywyrm as well

While remaining part of the crowd that is highly skeptical of dragons and saddles - it looks like its going in the right direction. Shield is interesting but would be a series wind drag for the dragon and especially in flight.
