-Special News Update-
Shock, horror, and dismay were felt today by the armed forces of the Federation. In a series of highly co-ordinated attacks, the Dayton-Aomori Corporation, with overwhelming numbers, attacked and scattered the growing federal fleet blockading its home system.
In a related incident, the large military supply base of Port Liberty, on the world of Talis, supporting the blockading fleet, was attacked by what was apparently a Dreadnaught class warship using false transponder codes. By the time defence forces realised the deception, the vessel was already in a position to vaporise 16 sq km's of the massive base. Personnel fled from the onslaught in whatever craft they could. As yet there is no report on the amount of casualties involved, but the number is expected to be high.
The enemy vessel was pursued out-system by defence forces, but evaded capture when it engaged its stardrive.
Fleet Command is at a loss in determining where and how the Corporation could have amassed such resources undetected, and have already dispatched the Sixth Fleet to the area.
Citizens with family members or loved ones serving aboard any Fleet craft or stationed at Port Liberty, are requested to contact their assigned Services Support Officer.
More reports to follow as information comes in.
