Description

Independent News Network 29th May 2610 -Special News Update- In an unprecedented show of defiance today, the Dayton-Aomori Corporation declared the independence of all five of its administered systems from the rule of the Terran Federation. Grand-Chairman of the Corporation's ruling committee, Deean Hakuri, made the declaration during a mass rally of the Corporation's union guild members on Khannis Prime. The speech was apparently received with a great deal of enthusiasm and was immediately followed by a military parade that clearly illustrated the Committee's resolve in its decision. A decision, it claims, it was forced to make due to the growing Federal blockade of its home system. The Committee demanded an immediate dispersal of the blockading Federation forces or it would be forced to take measures to ensure the safe passage of its merchant fleets. It is understood that Dayton-Aomori liquidated all of its out system assets just hours before the announcement was made. ******************** The Federation Council immediately released a statement reminding the Corporation of the Federal charter of 2388, in which it states "the Federation will not recognize the sovereignty of any administrating power that reneges from the Systems Home Rule Agreement". The Council appealed to the Corporation to remember the folly of the past wars and draw back from any hostile action that could jeopardize any future return to the Federation. Dayton-Aomori now joins an ever-growing number of blacklisted corporate worlds that are banned from trading with the Federation. The Federal Council must now surely admit its world administration policy is flawed, and should seek to remedy the situation before more worlds are lost. .: Credits :. Amazing use of scale and depth to recreate the vastness of the scene. I have to admit that I got a case of vertigo watching the men hovering over the parade. Excellent use of detail and I especially like the black framing of the image.
