Description

The Yellowstone Caldera is home to more than 75% of the worlds geysers and 7 major basins. If you don't stay on the paths provided you are basically asking to discover a new "hot tub". Anywhere in the basins, the thin and fragile crust of earth usually overlays extremely hot, acidic or very alkaline water. It is illegal to swim, bathe or soak in any thermal spring or pool. It's has massive volcanic activity spot which is pretty cool from a scientific point of view. I love science by the way so I think it's a really cool park.

I was there in 1973, and am dying to go back someday - a truly magnificent place! I always found it interesting that they have to have signs telling people not to get/jump into a pool of boiling water ;-P
