Description

Here is a view of the footpath and a geyser spouting in the distance. This image looked a bit different to me in person compared to how I viewed it through my lens. Using a zoom lens compresses the images, bringing the distant objects closer. The path the people are on did not appear to wind back to us so closely in real life. Notice the bleak white and yellow hues of the earth. This is typical of the Yellowstone area, especially in a geyser basin such as this. Thanks for the visit and any comments. Blessings, Jodie

Terrific POV, DOF and contrast in this meticulously focused capture, Jodie! The geyser reminds me of a snow machine, or the smoke from a locomotive. Actually, instead of a geyser, that could be an underground train.

Is that fire or lava I see? The starkness of the ground contrasted with the rich greens is beautiful. Of course, the geyser is the icing on the cake. Beautiful shot.
