Born 1941. Yeah, I know, that's old. Live in Rome. Was raised in Buenos Aires, and still feel that as home. Work as a consultant in GIS (Geographical Information Systems). My hobby, or maybe my real profession, is South American history. My wife is a very well known (in her specialized world ) Roman archeologist. Our son is 30 years old, but hasn't decided to grow up yet. Deals in politics. We travel, at least an important travel each year.

This is the armor for the Winged Hussars. If I recall right, the knights had the "wings", their squires and other cavalrymen attached to them did not. I also read that the feathers were ravens'. The reason for the "wings" was that at speed, the feathers would make a whirring noise, heard above and beyond the thundering of hooves. It terrified the enemy. Great picture!

Magnificent psycological strategy for the times. Not only terrifies the enemy, but also bolsters the ego of the men wearing this. Outstanding shot.
