Description
CAPTION TRANSLATION FROM GOOGLE (Pharaoh Tutmosis's Version):
First Mummy (on the right): 'Business's a bit flat, I'll take a break. Wanna beer or coffee?'
Second Mummy (on the left): I'll hold the fort. Fetch me a beer!!'
I couldn't resist the temptation of having a little fun with two of the mummies at the Museo Egizio in Turin, Italy, specialising in Egyptian archaelogy and anthropology. It is home to what is regarded as one of the largest collections of Egyptian antiquities outside of Egypt. The Egyptian Museum owns three different versions of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, including the most ancient copy known. An integral illustrated version and the personal copy of the First Royal Architect Kha, found by Schiaparelli in 1906 are normally shown to the public. On more than one occasion the director of the Museum was asked to remove the two copies of the book on display and stock them in a deep and dark basement, always for strictly esoteric reasons (as the papyrus emanates 'negative energy'). At the time of writing, none of these requests appears to have been put into practice. BTW, Turin is the esoteric capital of Italy.
The collage shows the spectacular Assemblea dei Re (Kings Assembly) with an imaginative use of lighting and mirrors. On the left there is Ramses II, then a Sphinx, and the War Goddess Sekhmet, the warrior goddess depicted as a lioness, the fiercest hunter known to the Egyptians. It was said that her breath created the desert. She was seen as the protector of the pharaohs and led them in warfare.
Thank you for your kind comments.

Why do I want to start singing Steve Martin's "King Tut" song? And to think they new about coffee and beer in ancient Egypt! (Beer for sure!) Perfect for Halloween.
