Description

In Yellowstone we saw this large male Buffalo by the side of the road. (but, no buffalo gals in sight, Harry.) The first thing I noticed about him was this lovely pine sprig in his hair. He was by himself and VERY close to the motor home. Upon entering the park all tourists are warned to keep a safe distance from all the animals. I was in the motor home and took this through the window. NO WAY would I get this close otherwise. No need for ninja zoom here! Thanks for the visit. Jodie Have a look at a very peaceful lake...

They are such beautiful and magnificent animals. No where else in the world do they roam except America. Last Christmas, my boss brought one (a baby in a trailer) to our Christmas Party as a gift for our Plant Mgr. Even as a yearling they are very formidable. Grand shot and thanks for sharing.

Buffalo/Bison are magnificent creatures. I've been fascinated with them ever since I saw one as a child. I was probably as tall as one of his knees. Great shot.

I've heard of and seen buffalo nickels, buffalo soldiers, buffalo wings, and the Buffalo Bills football team, but never buffalo gals, Jodie! Particularly stellar clarity, lighting and composition in this shot, taken from the protective interior of your vehicle. It must have been somewhat shy to stick its head into the ground like that.
