Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

Stellar scene of serenity in this beautiful composition, Jodes! I wonder if they have any intentions of hauling off that dead tree. It could be creating a traffic hazard. Or does just leaving it there help in the mystique of the lake.

because I've communicated personally, and because I've been offline for so long (but for an occasional upload), I don't remember the last time I actually commented in your gallery. Well let me do it here as the New Year comes in. I've sung the praises of this image many times; I still sing its praises now. The quality of the light is almost early morning, soft & gentle; the detail on the bluff is sharp yet blended by your inimitable sense of atmosphere; the highlights across the branches are sharp & poetic & beautiful; the music of the branches' lines is so articulate; and the background light is beautifully diffuse with that blue that mountains get through space & distance, and the cloud line is like a contrapuntal line wafting above (as is the inclusion of the land mass on the right, in front of the mountains--a small thing but to my eye photographic beauty). A beautiful piece all around. A wonderful New Year to you and your beloved family, and I wish you lots of light & inspiration. A fav...but then so many of these images are favs Jodie. A fav for the whole beautiful trip...
