Description

AloooooooooHa~ I had just been up for about 5 minutes this morning just be before 5 am when the phone rang. Normally I would let the answering machine get it as I have some trouble with buttheads trying to sell me stuff. But never at 5 am. I answered on the second ring and was relieved to hear my buddy Sharky on the other end. He was down at the lava flow and told me it was massive and I should get my ass down there soon. Sharky walks the lava fields quite a lot and when he says it happening you better take his word for it. I made a quick cup of coffee and got my gear together and was down at lava fields in about a half hour. As I walked in the darkness I could see the glow from the parking lot...man it was close and it was big. I spent a little over an hour shooting what I could before I had to leave. The heat was quite intense, like an open oven at a few thousand degrees. I stood at about 10' away and I was still cooking...Pele's power is intense. Here is a small break out from the main flow that has started to cool leaving small ripples in it's wake. This shot goes out to my good buddy Sharky...without him this would not have been possible....Mahalo's big guy! Have a great week everyone~ Aloha~
