Description

I loved this doorway as I was walking up on it, and made sure I got some good head-on shots of it. The asymmetrical shape was so unusual! This is a good advertisement for taking shots from different angles, though. The straight on shots were WAY boring.

Nice piece of architecture. I'm sure that gave the builder a few headaches.

Just a regular door BUT what marvelous opening. Awesome detail work around the opening. Well spotted and super POV. Dana

Wonderful capture. The 1920s or 1930s by the look of it. The wrought iron fence just adds to the overall artistic feel. We still have a few like this in Los Angeles but it's a constant battle.

The pov is exceptional. It gives character to the doorway and presents the wrought iron beautifully.

Well said,...shoot five or six different angles. You've reaped a fine payoff that proves your point. What a beautiful feature. Turn of the century stone cutters outdid themselves here. Unfortunately, craftsmen capable of this work in the USA are gone:-(

I love this. The angle is perfect. I tend to score most of my shots at an angle. Head on just doesn't turn out right for me. When I saw this, I immediately thought that you took it in a swanky part of Agara (but alas, Agara is a fictional place, but they do have doors like this, usually with catalpa leaves carved into them...but that's a long ramble for another time.) I love the details and the Old World look of this. The fence does add just an extra bit of atmosphere! Fantastic!

This is a very unique entrance arch. But I do so love the detail on it though. Very good capture Tannie!

This reminds me of the sad loss of a terrace of houses in Wimborne, a town very near me. They all had these entrances, in pairs, and i never thought to take pics as they would always be there. Alas..razed to the ground for a modern block of flats. Anyway, this is a terrific pic, and I love the earth tones.
