Description

I took this photo in one of South Africa's most expensive furniture shops. This is a vintage crystal chandelier that has been refitted with modern lighting. It cost R120,000 for this chandelier. I can easily by a car with that instead! Yikes!

What a beautiful image! I love the limited color pallet, the shading from dark to light, the angle of the shot, the way you've cropped the photo. Full view really shows the elegance and the detail, along with the reason for the VERY high price tag! The amount of disposable income necessary to make this a reasonable choice (and the house one must have that would fit this look) boggles the mind. It's a fabulous piece of bling, and you've captured it in a most wonderful way!

Fantastic image Ray! I cannot believe the price though! I love the light playing in the chrystals - most amazing! Well seen and captured! :)

Sumptuous baroque! I often take pics of stuff out of my price range just to share it with other poor people like me! Not that I want it, I prefer simple. Thakyou for you link to the SA artist, very interesting!
