Description

This beautiful girl's life has just started to be miserable!!! The fireworks have begun, yes I know, not Halloween until Saturday & certainly NOT bonfire night until Nov 5th but round here nobody bothers. They started Friday night, Saturday was horrendous, just got into bed at 11.30 & someone decided to have a firework party, that was it, Carla 'B' shaking from head to paws & puffing & panting, we put the radio on full blast, they lasted about half an hour. Had bangs last night & already tonight, I despair!!!!! Yep one of Nigels. Thanks for the lovely comments, so, so appreciated.

Over the past two years my 15 year old poodle has gone mostly deaf. It is a blessing in disguise when the fireworks fly. Great glammer shot! Thanks

Stunning, poor Carla B, it must be horrendous. My boys don't like it but they are not beyond themselves with fear like your girl. Hugs

With all the other things Health and Welfare fiddles with...why not ban fireworks for the private individual? Beautiful photo.

Very beautiful portrait! I sympathize with her about the fireworks. All three of our dogs are terrified of them. It's not pretty at our house when they're fired off.

I feel so sorry for her. Our lovely Tex was terrified of fireworks. We used to get sedatives from the vet to give to him but since they're going off weeks before AND after it was just useless as no way would we keep him dosed up night after night. For his last year on this earth, we took him to our caravan in the depths of Wales for a few days to keep him away from them. Fortunately, the only ones we heard while we were there were in the village a few miles away. It was cold and miserable in the 'van that time of year but to give him a few days peace, it was worth it. With Maya we have tried the approach of ignoring. We did it with thunder eachtime this year and she has no fear of it, unlike Tex who used to bark uncontrollably and be terrified out of his wits. Even a strike so close that it knocked our electricity out didn't phase her a few months ago. We've had the odd firework go off these last few days and we've used the same technique. When she sees no reaction to the noise from us she seems to think all must be well and brings us one of her toys instead. We have yet to see what she'll be like when they're going off everywhere all night though.... I hope that your girl gets through this without too much misery.

Oh the poor darling it must be so hard for her, and especially as you cannot explain that it really is okay, and nobody will harm her. I know you will do your best to help her in every way, and if I ever come back as a dog I would want someone like you to take care of me. love and hugs Janice and gang xxx

Marvelous shot of her. I do feel for the dog. Its not like you can just explain what the nasty noise is and make it all better.

What a stunning shot!! I love the 'white room' it really shows her off beautifully!!! I have a couple of dogs who are afraid of loud noises. I have heard that Benydril(I think that's how to spell it) works. Have you tried Rescue Remedy yet?

Your dog photos are excellent. My dog has a thing about loud/close thunder. We do the cuddle on bed thing during these times.

This is a really fine photo, beats the newer one by a small touch. The white bg works very well with the lovely color fur of your sweetie.
