Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Great photos of a glorious machine. Pity this particular one clearly isn't working anymore, but it's sure a fascinating beast. Great shots.

I can't believe you found that clip! Okay, I can ... but still ... that was amazing to see. The images are wonderful, and having seen it in action via your link really made this a fun experience. Thank you!

My guess is the chains are for steering in some fashion. Look at the huge power-take-off wheel for running a thresher, or other machine. Looks like it hasn't moved for a month or more. Great set of pics, Bill.

How cute a contraption.... Wonderful find and image Bill! Got to run to work but will watch the video soon!!

When I took the Air Force Entrance exams I did pretty well in all but the mechanical which I did abysmally in. I have absolutely no idea. They do follow one military code here though. It may not work, but it is very nicely painted. Lovely captures and fun to hear it as well.

This is fabulous and I have a thing for steam tractors. I have seen this one operate out at our state fair. It is loud and belches with such vigor. I love the sound of its strength. What a joy to see one here.

I have no idea, but I'll bet you do!! I've seen and heard these before; there are actually a few left up in my neck of the woods!!

What a beast! I guess the chains would be for steering, or at least keeping the front fixed axle from snapping around on the rough terrain. Those who have raced down a slope in a soapbox car with rope steering would know what I mean! Cheers, Clive

What a great find! If my garden is big enough, I will have such a monster in front of the house! Somebody must love this old machine! And the video clip is wonderful! A time when machines were not only black boxes. 5+++

Egads, the land version of Fulton's Folly! The marriage of the 18th century front part to the mid-20th century rear section. Excellent POV, clarity, colors, lighting and textures in this shot, Bill!

Great captures and I think the chains may be something to do with the stearing, just a guess though. We still have a very active club of steam engines not far from here and they are at all the shows etc. Marvellous old engines and works of art.
