Description

Image taken in Kruger National Park, South Africa many years ago and it always had a sad interpretation for me... I am not in a great space today and have been pondering many things and situations in my life. Then I read this just now and suddenly realized what the origin of many problems may be. "At the very heart of our Circle of Influence is our ability to make and keep commitments and promises. The commitments we make to ourselves and to others, and our integrity to those commitments, is the essence and clearest manifestation of our proactivity." Mmmmmm.... Anyway - thanks for stopping by! Stay well. Hugs Carin xx

Oh my, Carin, words to ponder for sure. I hear what you are saying--loud and clear. Your foto reflects those words beautifully. Take care, my friend.

True words, certainly. A strong composition! Images mean so many different things to different people.. for me this epitomises the isolation that marriage can impose on an individual, and the concurrent loss of friends to exclusive partnerships.

Wow, there are some deep currents in this river - "stille waters... " (Afrikaans) Take a look at the goats again, Carin, and smile! Cheers, Clive

Superlative image, with the title apparently reflecting your current life situation, which doesn't sound too cool, and which I have no inkling or knowledge of, Carin.

Ummmm, quack :) "gigglesnort" (stolen from Jazzie) well, it makes me laugh when she does it to me. Take care Carin, you have lots of friends.

One of my favorite quotes is from Goethe: "Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back ... the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred." Miskien kan ons gesels hierdie naweek, Dierbaar. Ek het jou lief :X

The photo is wonderful. As for the philosophical thinking, I guess it is the old half-full or half-empty thing again. Some people see everything as one or the other. Some of us see it one way one day and the other way another day. Thinking of Andrea's comment, my fondest moments go back to the joy of being alone..., "Just the two of us." So, I see these as two lucky ducks:)
