Description
The good, I got better waves than I am used to. The bad, I think too dark, and I think trying to mix in a sunset was a mistake. Next time I'll try better light and try to get the adventure of the heavy seas more properly. Experimented a lot with PS which is the only way to learn, but you pay the price.. I tried to blend in some textures, but that didn't work too well for me.

I think it looks wonderful, very dramatic! Great job.

Master of the seas...your new title :) Yeah...a bit dark but, still excellent work. Sometimes I use two suns one in the front like this image and another 180 degrees out...low and dim, usually blue or purple...just to highlight or backlight the overdark shadows from sunset...it usually works. Excellent image!

Yeah, you've got a good sea going there. I'd keep the sun and use Mark's suggestion for backlighting. The bit you might want to redo or replace is the Photoshopped nearby crescented cloud. Overall, good work.

Thank you guys - I'll keep plugging at it. Grunge border gone. I appreciate the encouragement. On the backlighting... I've used multiple suns before, in fact I had two extra very dim fill suns, but the results were very flat, the additional requirement of low, dim, and "opposite" colored (you can tell I've got no training whatsoever), is wonderful. I'm eager to try this. Experiments underway!!

What a dramatic and beautiful image. I love the sunset as is..including the glistening bits of light on the sea. Incredible water. Excepting the distracting "ghost riders" effect in the sky, I think this is excellent work. In my opinion, the scene is not too dark. Awesome mood you've created.
