"With the press of a button, the courier ship 'Hard Bargain' expended more energy in a few nanoseconds than the entire Roman civilization, wrapping the vessel in a negative mass field which instantly accelerated it to many times the speed of light. Trips between stars now took a matter of days or weeks, depending on the distance, and what was once the fanciful dreams of futurists had become the purview of the mundane. I like the blurring effect. Not only does it look like speed, the effect focuses our attention on the Hard Bargain rather than the rest of the universe. Fabulous.
