Description
This is an image I took of the full moon in the morning hours of Nov 2 2009. Very bright and vibrant. I live in southern New Mexico so the night sky is very clean and vibrant. I used a 10megapixel camera rigged through my 900mm focal length telescope with a 25mm eyepiece.

I love the craters along the limb...I miss my ancient hand-me-down telescope; I spent many childhood hours staring at the moon, finding Jupiter and Saturn with it (Mars and Venus didn't do much for me, and always left me in search of the big gas giants...I saw Saturn's rings clearly and at least 3 of Jupiter's moons.) This shot brings back great memories for me but it's also a wonderful piece of work on its own and without anyone's nostalgia attached to it. Great stuff!

Excellent capture! I didn't know you were into astronomical photography, but I have always been into skies and the universe... I could and still can watch the stars for hours and hours and feel like I belong somewhere upthere...:) No to mention a few signs I was lucky enough to be given :)
