Description

The receptionist flagged Marr over and said, "Grab Doctor Mnemosyne. You guys are being called by the headmaster of your kid's school. Again." Marr rolled her eyes and waved over Doctor Mnemosyne and they went into the VA office. HeadMaster Aten Yuuoda appeared in three dimensions in the holo-sphere. He said, "Sorry for the call, ladies, but there was an incident at the school this afternoon. It seems that your son ,Doctor Mnemosyne, was being picked on when his friend had her lunch was taken from her. She was YOUR daughter, Doctor Panchetta." He frowned and said, "These children were told to report bullies, last year, but it seems they were just too afraid to. In any event... someone got involved in this. Doctor Panchetta, do you know a girl named Toxic?" Marr looked shocked. "Uhhhm, yes. She's my cousin. My grandmother is Aldus Panchetta's sister. WHY DO you ASK?" "She's going to the base school, now. Her father is not available to come in. YOU are listed as the next local available next of kin. You need to come in. One of the mothers of one of the children involved want to press charges on the assault." "WHAT? WHAT ASSAULT? What happened?" Marr looked doubly shocked now. The Headmaster looked displeased and angry when he said, "ALL the children at this school were told we have a zero tolerance for bullying. Some people didn't listen, it seems. Toxic says someone pushed Tossi Panchetta to the ground, while taking her lunch, so she took action. At that time, she apparently took hold of the boy and THREW him over SEVENTY FEET into a BUSH! The whole school is buzzing over it." Doctor Mnemosyne asked, "Don't you have surveillance recordings of it?" The headmaster looked uncomfortable. "It seems the system went down just when lunch started and stayed down until after the yard was cleared. We have plenty of witnesses, though." Marr looked a bit confused and asked, "Were any children injured? Any fatalities?" The headmaster coughed. "FATALITIES? I'd be calling the MP's and local police! Not you! No injuries past some scrapes and a boy having wet his pants! Fatalities? WHY in HELL would you ask that?" Mnemosyne looked over at Marr, and whispered, "He doesn't have a clue, does he?" "TOXIC is a DEATH MACHINE! She's the one that fought off the dragon last week! It's been in the news! She's a celebrity and stronger than hell! If she grabbed up a bully trying to beat up my little girl, and tossed him in a bush where he PISSED on himself and HE LIVED? Give her a medal! " She laughed, "She could have pulled him apart like a boiled chicken! She showed great restraint under duress. She could have killed him if she hit him, so she tossed him in a bush. Big deal." "We need to talk. The mother will be here in minutes." The Headmaster reached for the switch to cut off the transmission. Marr held up a hand, "KEEP TOXIC AND THE MOTHER SEPARATE!" The viewer went dark as Marr headed for the door. Mnemosyne said, "I'll cover for you. I ran off the last time!" Marr waved a hand and ran out the door. Marr hadn't seen Toxic for four years, but she was still was a sower of Chaos. She hailed a car and sped away toward the base school, and looked up the listing of everyone affiliated with Toxic and started calling numbers on her cell phone. --TO BE CONTINUED!--

LOL! I knew there were going to be interesting times at that school. I love the headmaster's response to Marr's simple and very relevant question! I like her reaction to learning there are no fatalities too. Big deal and keep the mother away from Toxic. Marr is in for a lot of interruptions. I don't see Toxic's father being available very often. Wonderful expressions! I particularly like Doctor Mnemosyne's. It seems to say "Whew boy! I am so glad that this one landed in your court!" And Marr's expression and body language are perfect. Great holographic image of the headmaster, who has clearly not enjoyed his day. Very fun episode!

I have spent the last 2 or 3 hoour reading this story.. It is crazy good. like a big gulp of a pangalactic gargle blaster. Takes a second to figure out what is going on but once you do it like a roller coaster ride... Or maybe the entire amusmant park.. With all kinds of suprises and treats.

Fun. I've started re-reading from the beginning, and can really see how your art and storytelling have grown.
