Lots of pirates was and still is as far as I know is in New orleans. One even help defend the city from the British from takeing it over in 1814. CLICK HERE here a link to a wonderful song to that battle. May not be historical song but I like it. there many others pirates but if you like you can google it with pirates of New orleans. It fun to read about them.

I only remember Johnny Horton's version of this. I just love this version you posted! Wonderful picture as well, reminding us of past History. I don't think the pirates from the 1800s stood with signs asking for money though, LOL!!!
