Description

Ras Mohammed National Park is a natural reserve of sea and land. This protected area of 480 km2 is located in the three Gulf of Suez with that of Aqaba, the southern end of Sinai. The arid desert terrain of sand dunes, gravel plains, fossilized corals and granite mountains, is home to many rare animal species: Dorcas gazelle, Nubian ibex and red fox. Are easy to observe the resident birds such as terns, herons, gulls and ospreys. Thousands of white storks pass through Ras Mohammed each year during their southward migration in September / October and back north in April / May. Approximately 85 species of fauna live in the park, including mangroves. In stark contrast to the landscape, seemingly desolate desert, the ecosystem is a magnificent underwater explosion of life: 200 species of corals (125 of which are soft corals), 1000 species of fish, 40 species of sea stars, 25 urchin, 100 molluscs, 150 species of crustaceans and 2 turtles: the green turtle and the turtle beak of a hawk. Buona giornata e buon weekend Thanks for looking and for previous comments
