WE DID IT!!!!!!
I learned last night that the results of the blood tests were back, as well as a second opinion reading of the recent mammogram. IT IS GONE!!! Cheri’s doctors want to schedule one last and all telling test, just to make sure. She will do the PET scan next week, this is more of a formality than anything else, but I agree that it’s better to side with caution, especially with this enemy.
Cheri will still have to be tested on a annual basis after this for a few years, but we know how to keep it gone, and gone it shall stay! We are so grateful to have all of you out there supporting us all of this time, never relenting, never wavering, standing steadfast, an army of friends and caring people who never let up.
Cheri had gone through so much, just to finally get to the point that we could finally begin this battle in earnest. So much frustration and fear, that all while the side battle was engaged, the foe that had caused it all might be growing and becoming even more formidable.
She never once gave up hope amidst it all, and even began in earnest a new fight, to find a way to make health insurance for all, affordable, and not out of anyone’s reach. My biggest fear during this period was that she might martyr herself in this endeavor, using too much strength and energy in this new pursuit. The progress made and the information gathered with the co-op insurance is slow, but very promising. You might find it interesting to know that it is not the insurance companies that are standing in our way, we actually have their backing, but the government, and the multitude of agencies and red tape each have such an abundance of. We will not be swayed here either, and will find a way, if by nothing else than sheer determination and tenacity.
Thank you all so much for everything you’ve done, I’m not sure you will understand how much your kind words, thought and prayers have meant or done for us, and the fact that the majority of those had been from people we had never met is just mind boggling. My mother has been following a great deal of this, and is in awe by the lot of you! We love this community and all of the people in it, so many of you have become special friends,…and we are so deeply in your debt.
For those of you who had managed to read this far, my apologies for making this such a long read. I had posted a few days ago, “For all of you in need”, if you hadn’t already gone there, please do, for everyone is in need of something, just tell us what it is, plant the seed that can help it to come to fruition or make it happen. Anything is possible; I’ve learned that from you! Most of you prove it here either with your posts, or comments, or both. Let’s get the ball rolling for everyone, and show the world what real change is. I thought I was strong enough to deal with things on my own; I had no idea what hundreds all wanting and pulling for the same thing could do. Imagine that now working for you, all of that energy, on your side, helping you! We can do this,…but we need to know what.

Wonderful news and wonderful words...Oh Dave and Cheri I don't know what to say...you can't get much better news than this. You two seem to be such wonderful people and only deserve the best...I hope and pray things continue to go well.
