I was born and raised here in central Wisconsin, and always loved art. My high School art Teacher thought I should pursue it as a career, I decided not to, and have regretted that decision ever since. I stumbled across this site a few years back and became enthralled with all of the amazing artwork on display, I was in Nirvana, able to shed the days stress by viewing what everyone was doing. It didn’t take long before I started saving artists to my favorites, and in doing so, started to add stress back into my life. The list had grown so large, that it soon became impossible to always comment even with just a few words, for the work they all had posted.  So,…if you’re reading this and wonder as to why I don’t always remark on something you’ve done, it’s not because your talent or post wasn’t worthy, but simply because I don’t have the time. For that, I apologize most sincerely.
I am divorced, with three incredible children, my youngest is now seventeen, going on 28. I don’t think I’m going to allow her to date until probably her forties. I’m currently in a relationship, and have been for more than just a few years ( too long to not have a ring yet,….at least in her eyes. ), with the most amazing woman. It’s nice to feel loved and cared for, but I don’t feel as if I deserve her sometimes.
Cheri is a new member here, posting under elfin14doaks. It took me well over a year to get her to check this site and you all out, but now that she has, I think she's found her niche. Thank you all so much for welcoming and accepting her, I don't recall ever seeing her happier. I may have helped to create a monster though, used to be she rarely turned her computer on, now it's the first thing she does when she gets home. Her first endeavor, is to scan through all of her folders of photos, to try and find something worthy of you to post, then she'll spend hours going through the galleries, commenting on everything that catches her eye. You all have helped to create and instill a sense of purpose in her life,......for that I thank you!!
I’m hoping to finally be able to purchase that which I feel I need, in order to someday be able to start creating and posting art of my own. Until then, I really don’t feel as though I could ever be critical of anything someone posts here, it wouldn’t be fair, to not have exposed myself to the same. I love this community and the people in it, I don’t think it possible to find such a large and diverse group of caring and nurturing individuals anywhere else.
I came because of the art,……..but stayed because of you!!  Â

Beautiful!

A wonderful poem and very heart felt from both of us. These are our Halloween costumes this year. This is how we greeted our trick or treaters. We had about 25 loyal kids. They come to see what we are going to be dressed in. The swine flu scared most parents and households this year. It was supposed to run from 4 to 7, but was over by 5:30. There were not a lot of kids, nor were there a lot of houses passing out candy this year.

This is amazing, in both word and image! It's so incredibly heart-felt and touching, without being schmultzy. I love non-schmultz, but rich emotional warmth. It's great writing...and as for the picture. WOW! It gave me the giggles, which is a good thing. I love your expressions, and the old photograph quality of this image, and I'm even more glad to see that things are looking up, going better (and may they continue to do so) and that the whole Swine Flu scare left you with more candy to munch on yourselves! This is truly beautiful!

Wonderful words and fantastic picture!

Wonderful...all the way around. I can't say I "need" a thing Dave. The thing I needed was my heart repair in August and the results are at least three fold better than I ever expected. That leaves me with some wants...but they are of little consequence compared to the needs of many of our friends here on Rendo. Love the pic of you two...maybe next year on more kids:)

Superb words Dave and lovely capture of the pirates two.. Just so wonderful that so many and so much love and concern was poured out for you both and although not out of the woods just yet there will be so much more love, wishes and prayer to come the way of you two from those wonderful people on here..

This is a wonderful image, my friend, and even better news! I hear you, dear one, and because I know who you are and understand what you ask, I will answer your question: The past few months have seen me in good stead, but it seems as if all my friends have been having troubles, and it's been a challenge to provide support on so many fronts. One by one those troubles are falling to the sword as it were, and that pleases me greatly. The things I want right now are things I want for them. For you and Cheri, for my friends Martin and Brandon and Jennette, for Lela, for RR friends I hold close in my heart ... your (and their) good results soothe my soul. For myself ... there are a few more here I would like to meet in person. Not only because I know it will be a joy for me, but because I believe the more we hook up with each other across the country, across the world, across political lines, the better the world will be in general, the more we bring the world together. Thank you for asking, and for your commitment to that vision. I love you both very much.

Stellar costumes! I assume you don't dress like that every day. :-) I love the postwork and presentation. Perfect!

It's funny, I didn't read this as a poem at all, it seemed like the most heartfelt and open letter to the world. You two have shown me that there can be love so good and so great it can beat tremendous odds. My wish--that there can be more of that kind of love for everyone. Thank you.

This is such a wonderful tribute to...uh...us I guess. It's a great thing to see the good guys win one. Very happy news. Great costumes. Cheri has such a kind face, you, ehh, not so much. {;-) Keep fighting the good fight and winning, that is your gift to us. It gives us hope.

I am very happy to know Cheri is ok, and you at her side... as you was commanded by God ;) I just wish that all the children and teenagers of this world can have a good place to live. Not a nice house with WiFi and so... just a clean planet with water and food and trees and animals all around. No more polution and destruction. Just they can see glaciers as I saw them... woods, oceans... icebergs... Just wish the humans can understand that there are just ONE place to live... Cheers from Argentina

Love the costumes, you two really enter into the spirit of things, great pic. Great news Cherie, everything still crossed for the all clear. Love the words, I woud like everyone to be good to each other, be more tolerant & STOP all the cruel things that go on to the animals, they carn't talk for themselves.

If it really could come true...I'd wish for her to stay in the safe zone...for always. :-)

Just peace my friends, love and understanding, its not hard to do, all you have to do is look at someone and smile, say hello, they may be surprised by it but i bet they will be pleased. And who knows maybe one day they will try it themselves and see... we are all human, one world, one people, nothing more, nothing less. For you both i am so pleased.:-))))

Oh very nice portrait! I love this style of portrait, a great tribute to the past! We had zero trick or treaters and I saw only two on the street. But I wasn't up to handing out candy anyway so thats a good thing:-)

What you wrote here is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read, it brought tears to my eyes. I comment on Cheri's work and never did I know she was sick. I will keep her in my prayers always and that this they seen never returns. I guess if I could have a wish come true it would be for two of my daughters, both who are suffereing finacially and heartbreak in their lives. I would love to see their lives turn around for them and that some sort of hope and peace would enter their lives and their children's lives. I would wish for their safety above all else and that the person that threatens this safety found. Good luck Cheri, may God be with you.

Wow .. what a great shot! You guys are awesome! Supporting someone even from great distances works. I really think that all the prayers, love, support, encouragement has helped Cheri, and can help others here. As for needs .. I don't really have any, and for that I'm hugely grateful. I like what AuntieK had to say, and agree with her. Reaching out and supporting our RR friends is an awesome thing, it's like holding hands all around the world! And I totally agree with Barb (jendellas), cruelty and abuse of animals has to stop. It's been shown that kids who abuse animals grow up to abuse people. Abusing any living, breathing thing needs to stop. Those are my needs, not much really, but huge at the same time.
