Description

A second terrain imported and blended with a procedural terrain. A clip file was created using this for future projects. Thanks to the following for certain elements of the composition: • Terrain – Original .ter by ‘Markal’ (Pleasant Valley) imported as a second terrain; with heightfield adjusted to reduce the altitude. • Applied certain surface layer procedural exercises from the ‘WeeLaddie’s/Schmeerlap’s’ Ben McDuff terrain. • Used a Cumulus cloud clip file (author unkown) from the Planetside library. • Used plant models from: Walli’s Wild Grass pack (two populations; each a different color) available at NWDA; Bluebells flowers (author unknown - from Ashundar – color adjusted); and, Common Yarrow (model from a friend) height adjusted.

Cool terrain work and AWEsome clouds! I love the surface (color & texture), vegetation and marshy foreground. This image has a big "wow' factor- the scope of it is incredible. Outstanding work, Bob.

For me that's your best TG2 work, Bob. Compositionally near prefect. I was initially imagining those round slabs on the far right to be huge, but when I viewed the full size image they were scaled down for me by the proximity of the grass to them. That wee scaling issue and perhaps a tad softening of those magnificent clouds. You have to take into account that I'm not long out of bed and am still a bit grumpy. So the overall impression is: Excellent work, and well done.

Although I just got up myself, I tend to agree with John on the plant scale and clouds and most importantly creativity. An excellent example of persistence paying off!

The terrain reminds me somewhat of "Cerrox" - a Mojo import, if I recall. Altogether - and I agree with John - your best, and most innovative as yet!

I agree with Weeladdie... a stunningly vast terrain. There's plenty of stuff going on here - but it's the expansiveness that does it for me. Very good, Bob. I think I'll fav this 'un.

Excellence! I love the angled cliffs on the right and don't see the scale issue...I quess its all in how you look at it and comprehend...size is subjective...how big is "Big"?...how tall is "Tall"?...its up to us to decide...anyway...you know I'm a contrast freak and would love to see a bit more contrast and darkening...as it seems a bit washed out...still, a super image!

Well, I see there a "scale issue" :) Plants should be vere very tiny at the bottom of "round slabs on the far right", probably as dot like. For now seems like they are like trees or the montains really are only a sand stacks :) Other than that really great image!
