Description

One would think, that this little white spider hasn't got a chance against this killer bee. How wrong can one be ? after closer inspection, I'd actually noticed, that the spider was dragging the bee backwards up the stem, to the flower, called Dietes... and if you zoom in, you will find another passenger on the back of the bee, a common fly: Musca Domestica. There you have it, in this triangular and tangled web of intrigue. Three is a crowd, so they say, but...it makes an interesting photo ! Cheers *BB*

Well, it sure ain't Miss Muffet...unless she's got a new fur coat ? Very kool David and Goliath captures, also I'm going to be very careful in the garden now, keeping my eye's peeled for mini-killa-spiders ! Well done & ~Cheers~

I have observed this before. In fact, I once saw a tiny spider hauling a wasp back to his dining table. Fantastic shots you got here and really wonderful the fly decided to cooperate.

always liked spiders... even after being bit several times... noticing this event must mean that your garden is your place to become one with nature.. very cool shot!

Good lord- how big are the bees there? For a fly to be so dwarfed by it! Damn! Very cool capture!

Okay, I have three questions about this picture. 1: how big is that bee? 2: what kind of spiders do you have there? 3: how big is that bee? I ask these questions because I'm accustomed to small spiders, but "common" flies come in one general size with little variation, at least in the USA. Long legged flies are smaller, hoverflies are bigger, but that's about it, unless you're talking exotic flies with ovipositors that stretch up to 3 feet long, but those are NOT common in Chicago. We're apparently fly-challenged over here. In terms of the photographs, I love this. I like spiders, but not as much as woodlice. And to see this spider with a big meal, I can say one thing. It's not the size that matters, it's the talent. (Hey, didn't someone say that in a candle-lit bedroom once?)

Super captures of these critters. I'm glad to see the bee didn't have a win this time and how cute is that to have the little fly caught at the same time. Talk about saving memory in your camera. LOL.
