Description

This is the first time ever, I've come across a striped Rocket-frog on our property. They are known to live in open forests, swamps and close to streams and are easily recognised by a distinct stripe on their back and their long pointy snout, a similar shape, looking like a rocket-cone head. *** We are living 110m above sealevel, so how did he get lost ? Maybe that's how they got their name, by propelling themselves up the hill...but then he landed in our wishing well...he didn't look to well, actually a bit bloated, perhaps this was his first trip. I saved him, by placing him on a rock to recover. I wonder if he'll get a gig at NASA, as a test pilot ? *** I really love frogs, Morty our green Tree-frog (short for Mortimer), still travels with us regularly to the Super market, in the hatch back door mechanism. (see post 18.10.08) Ribbit, ribbet...*BB*

Well he's very handsome. I've never seen a stripped brown frog. I'm sure he knew you liked frogs and just stopped by for a visit. Lol. Wonderful shots.

A NASA frog? Who'd have guessed it? I love this duo of images. You do close up photography so well, and I love the natural details you capture so well. The frog itself has a wonderful sheen. The light is perfect as well. In short, this is a wonderful duo of shots! He'd make a good alien too!
