Description

Wysiwig mentioned in his comment on my giraffe upload a week or so ago that he loves warthogs. I immediately thought of you when I paged through my files and saw this image! It was captured in the Kingdom of Swaziland last November. These critters are indeed most entertaining and I just love how they stand on their knees when eating! Hope you enjoy! Thank you for visiting and for your kind comments and favs on my previous upload! Stay well! Hugs, Carin xx

I used to walk around the AFB in the Eastern Transvaal. One of the warnings never to get between a mother warthog and its offspring. I guess that could be said about most animals! These guys will easlily outrun a human. Super shot of the family, Clive

I love warthogs, they always remind me of something prehistoric, and I'm glad that they stuck around! I love the details in this, the individual strands of hair on the nearest warthog's back really stand out. They also look so content.

They would look dangerous except their heads are so big for their bodies they just look comical. you certainly surpassed the rule of 3 here with a triple dose of warthog!

A face only another warthog can love. A stellar capture, Carin! Their eating posture makes them look like they're sinking into the ground as they nibble away. I'm going to toss in a MrsLubner type anecdote at this juncture and mention that I encountered this genre of hog, face to face, when I was lost in the Louisiana swamps during my Army service way back when.

Kneeling to eat...isn't this something? Fascinating capture of three hogs so ugly they're cute...from a distance anyway:) Another fine presentation Carin.

Oh Carin this is so thoughtful. For some reason these guys always make me smile. I've heard it said that sometimes something is so ugly it's cute. These guys are adorable. And fearless. I saw a nature show some time ago and a leopard was stalking a baby warthog, at least until dad showed up and chased away the cat! Thank you for this.

Homely but so cute. I know that they can be aggressive, but in this photo, they look so peaceful. Had not seen the knee thing before. Dana
