Description

This gorgeous guy was captured at the Monte Bird Park & Aviary a short distance from my house. They mainly care for injured birds that cannot be re-introduced to the wild. I am always amazed at how completely silent these huge owls are in flight. (oh, the postwork is mainly meant to block out the background clutter!) WOW! This is gorgeous. I love the way he's dressed! He looks so regal and owlish, but owls have always been somewhat close to my heart. In ancient Greece, I think they were the bringers of wisdom. I might be wrong about that, I'm not up on ancient Greece, but I know Athena had a lot to do with them. But never mind all of that! What a wonderful shot.
