Description

I took this photo of a man in the zoo's butterfly house who had the knack of getting the little creatures to land on his finger. They didn't seem to like mine. Some of them were quite old looking and frayed. Apparently they live much longer in there than they would in the wild due to a lack of birds who usually gobble the old and tired members up!

They probably don't like the salt water from all the time you spend in the ocean!! But how fun--I'd love to see a place like that!1

Fingers are funny things and butterflies can be so selective, dont give up. Great shot

This is very good. He must be a butterfly whisperer:) We also have folks who can get birds to eat out of their hands...I haven't been so lucky.

Efron. The very shallow depth of field has focused the attention on the butterfly and not the face. The intention of the photo was to show the man and the butterfly.

You didn't have to delete your comment Efron. It's OK not to like my photo you know!

Super capture of this old butterfly. Did not see Efron's comment but he should understand that comments are welcome and we all learn from them - good or bad. A little sugar water on your finger tips will attract the butterflies. Dana

This is a great shot. Seeing the focus of this almost makes it resemble a painting to me. The colors are beautifully intense, and the focus on the butterfly with the human face as more of a background really shifts the attention wonderfully, for me at least. What draws me into this the most is the sense of color that you have. It's perfectly presented here.
