I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I can never get mine to look this good. Outstanding work! Your 'wind of life' comment brings to mind a quote from John Lennon, Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.'

This is gorgeous! When I saw this I was immediately captured by it. You're good, you know that? Anyway, when I saw this, and read your commentary, I thought of what you'd said and how dangerously close I actually came to being blown away, in a more negative sense of the word...literally blown on some wild wind, but as things have improved in some small way, I'm reminded of Frank Herbert's novel, Dune in which the central protagonist is taught many things, one of which is to "bend like a reed in the wind as the flexible thing is far more resilient than the inflexible thing. Grass bends in a strong wind. Trees break in winds that are too strong, and so I hope to learn to be more grass like, rather than tree like...and your image brings all of that home to me, and in so elegant and beautiful a way. In my mind, because of your image and the comment, I'll always think of this picture as "The Lesson of Grass." Your title is perfect, and so I am not re-naming this, but you've inspired something in me, and for me, there IS a lesson here, and if there's ever a story with that title, you won't have to guess what inspired it!

Oh, yes, do I know about the wind---just when I think I'm going in the right direction, I get blown off course. And you know what? I've gone some pretty wonderful places--this is gorgeous!!
