Misty Ozark Autumn Morning by lil_sizzler

Although off topic: The house you see there is in the midst of being rehab/refurbished by Jack Thomas, our gracious host, and is for sale. He told us that back in the olden days of prohibition the occupants dug out a secret cellar/basement and ran a whisky gin. But only for the fact that we ran out of time, we never made it see the house or basement/cellar. Well, the story of the copperhead didn't exactly help either! As the story goes, back in the day the lady of the house while in the basement bent down to pick up what she thought was a stick. However, that stick turned out to be a copperhead snake, and it bit her! Jack told us that the bite was treated with fat salt pork. Jack swears by it. Fat salt pork seems to have been the cure all for most of whatever ailed you back in the olden days. The fat salt pork drew out the poison, the lady of the house survived and lived a long productive life...amazing! As for our household we're tempted to acquire and keep some fat salt pork on hand. Thanks for stopping by. Make it a great day!
