UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

LOL, great image, bill. I'm not sure if his attitude isn't "Don't even THINK about take my nut", however.

Nice one Bill...beautiful blue in him.

On a 22" monitor, that's a really big bird! He really does seem to be looking right at you.

I love the fine, chissled ridge of the beak. My son once rescued one that had a badly broken wing. The wing ended up falling off and the bird was not going to be rehabbed. Problem is, Blue Jays have a very strong wild, primal streak and they don't tame either. I hated seeing it long so intensely to be free. They are a very strong bird in body and mind. This shot really shows that character.

Nice face-on shot, Bill. Andrea made me look up "cere." I am surprised what it does.

Wow, a far cry from "Polly want a cracker." On my 24" monitor, the bluejay looks like the King Kong of Birdies in this image, Bill! I like the soft blend of colors and feather textures in this one.

I'd love to get this close to one. He looks so lovely and cuddly in this shot. He will just have to be a favourite.

You must have lost some weight after the operation Bill. The neighborhood birds are trying to feed you. Beautiful capture. :>) Dana

This rocks. Bluejays are wonderfully argumentative birds and this captures something else though...the blue-jay-ness of the creature. It's wonderful and I love the expression on his beaked, beady eyed face. Great sense of natural color too. You should do an extensive birds with nuts series...it would work perfectly!
mariogiannecchini
