Description

This finch is seen looking at the empty suet slot. Some sly thief made off with the entire block of suet during the night or early morning. Note the bottom bar is even pulled off, leading me to think a squirrel or maybe a racoon got it. This was a quick point and shoot operation on Nov 16, 2009. Bill:)

Excellent shot. I think he's wondering why you're playing with a camera instead of refilling the feeder. :)

had been wondering whether you got snow from that big low pressure system. We still haven't had a freeze. Raccoons around our house live in the storm sewers and scamper on our roof in the early hour. Strong critters.

oh you already have snow? Wonderful, Bill, here it's still to warm for November, in the Rhinevalley up to 21 Celsius (70 Fahrenheit), which is unusual for this time...

Cool and crisp capture of the bird house in this shot of your first snow, Bill! Of course, in contrast, we're still dry, sunny, and in the low 70s fahrenheit here in Southern California. Could that finch (or sparrow, to me) be an insurance agent or police officer checking out the theft?

Someone must have been very hungry but it is annoying eh! Fancy you having snow all ready, it seems funny when I'm busy watering the garden as it is hot here. This is a lovely capture of this little finch.

Such a delightful image! A most cute and sweet little finch, though I feel so sorry for him out in the freezing cold... I do hope he gets in there and stays warm :) A lovely scene, the essence of the season! :)

Closed for the season! :>) Poor finch needs that suet to survive the winter. Great catch. Dana

He looks throoughly disgusted by the discovery. I can just hear him griping! Last Friday we had rain mixed with snow, then hail, thunder and lightning, then snow, then it all went away. It was only in my general neighborhood, since I live smack in the middle of the convergence zone.
