I first discovered photography at the age of 8or 9 when i was given an old box brownie and after a couple of years I progressed to a Kodak folding camera I remember it took a size 127 film.
My father built me a dark room in the loft and I spent many hours learning about processing and printing my films, both black and white and colour. when marrige and family came along time for the processing side of photography had to take a back seat.  After 50 years working we retired to Chard in Somerset southwest England (we think it could be the best part of the world). About 3 years ago we got into digital photography , recently my son Ian who has a site on renderosity (iambrose) talked me into joining, I am so glad he did as it's so nice to read the comments and see how other people view your pictures.Â

Beautiful... curious if you use a polarizer filter on your camera? If not it would help to bring out the sky in some of your photos.

I love the looks of it but I would not want to have to live in it. It really is beautiful. Glad they restored it. Great shot.

Fascinating. I've never seen the stone weights before even in a book. What a great way to keep a roof intact...particularly in a windy place.
