Captured 10/25/09, at the 8th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.

I'm not sure which units they represent, but they are National Guard.
So, while the 30,000 or so attendees were enjoying themselves at the show, these stalwart young soldiers were patrolling the area, and packing heat.
I've been attending this show annually since 2006, and this was the first time I had seen armed troops at the event, and the first time I had to show my ID in order to enter the grounds. On guard for a terrorist attack, perhaps?
Between ninja-shooting automobile components and going to these events, I do lead a hazardous life.
Incidentally, the aircraft depicted in the background of photos 4 & 5 is a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III Heavy Transport.

Looks like they are checking you out Harry. After the Fort Hood affair, probably smart to have the heat handy. Excellent pics of the boys and one young lady lookin' out after all the folks. Well done. I don't recognize their patches but there's a lot of MP units these days. I'll bet each of these soldiers has been deployed two or more times already.

Having a day off... kinda! They don't look very alert, Harry..lol... But they are great shots.. Well taken.. Have to say... I tried the same at RAF Cottesmore and was nearly arrested!!! They were a tad more alert .. lol Well done! Rob
