Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

And thanks to the whole business of riding the waves per your wonderful shot, a couple of guys who were dying to surf but lived in the wrong part of the country...supposedly, invented the snow board about 35 years ago.

Yeah, I second Tara...you are so good at these! The light, the action, the details and everything are just spot-on-perfect. And yeah, I often wonder about the first person to ever do something. I never thought of that in terms of surfing, but I suspect that the first surfer was Polynesian and thinking: "Hmm...I have to get over to Rapa something-or-other and the quickest way might be on that dead piece of wood." What really disturbs me though it wondering about the first person to taste yogurt or cheese. What were they thinking! This milk seems to have gone bad. I wander what it tastes like." I love this image! You do them so well!
