Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Such a calm, easy cadence. I think you are ready. This is a joy to read. As much as I like to travel, me and my dog often sit...look around...and like little Jack Horner (who sat in a corner)...we say, how lucky we are to have a warm, snug house to call home. We always look forward, seldom backward. This is living free:)

Home is the place where people love you...and well, you have those all over the world, including some crazy ones in Chicago, at least three of us. As always though, your writing is deceptively simple. It's straightforward, and makes you think it's as simple as it sounds, but then...boom...it starts stirring things up and making you think. Good writing always does that, and your writing does that. A LOT! I like to think of what Pavl says. "Your house is where you keep your clean underwear...home is where people loan you clean underwear because you're not at your house." Ah...Czech wisdom from the mouth of a babe...okay, a 30 year old, beer-drinking babe. I love this piece! I'm glad to read it. And you know...your writing really rocks.

I know where this comes from, and you did have a magical journey and it's still happening even as you rest in the blanket of silence of your home. Sometimes we just gotta get back to the place we started from, don't we...The poem captures the whole journey of unknowns and jostlings about, and the feeling that you've just been visited by guides & angels (angel originally meant "messenger") who were like beacons to your next adventure. And you captured wondering what it'd be like to return to your old home, while the last few lines touch it all with peace & grace. As always, your line-divisions (lineation) is just right for your feelings, including your signature one-word lines as you slow down to a revelation. And the three groupings—first, the confluence & dizzying of all that experience; second, the grace of discovering 'lights' along the way; and third, the journey home & its revelations—are just right for what you want to say. I resonate with this, and it's written in your usual beautiful fashion, and right to the heart of the matter. Marilyn, this is one time I can't even begin to catch up, but you know I'll share more personally. So forgive my taking my leave right now. I'll be uploading sporadically, so I'll have plenty of time in between, to return here, comment, etc. In the meantime, may the experiences of your journey go on & on. And enjoy the rich quiet of your old beloved home...

Ah, the searching for ones meaning and purpose. I know that journey. Very nicely conveyed.
