Description

I have a clear view shot of this bird but like this one better, its just before he snaped up that berry. Thanks to Bill for help with my camera's AF button! Chipka, I found a use for your strange plant here :) Birds love it! Getting a little better with birds, I found that if I stand still for a while they come to me. Course I do need to be in a good place. Update: Bill says its a mockingbird. Update #2: Blondeblurr found out that this plant is a "Phytolacca americana". Opens in full view :)

when I was a kid there were many Mockingbirds but I never hear them here. they would respond when I would whistle.beautiful shot

Oh, this is fantastic! And yeah, birds do love that plant. I am not brave enough to sample one of its berries to see just how poisonous it is to humans, but from bird poop on various cars in various neighborhoods, the berries of that plant are quite a favorite among feathered things. I love the colors in this, and the expression on the bird's face! He looks so serious and so determined to do whatever it is that birds are serious about doing! Wonderful details as well. Into my favorites this goes!
