Description
Yesterday (11/21/09) I noticed a row of cotton planted as a border on a lot in the residential part of Tulsa. A first for me to get close to a matured cotton plant.
Not all of the bolls are open (note green, onion shapes about 2 inches long), but those that are have lost cotton to the wind. A line of long-needle pines just north of these plants is flecked - just not dense enough to be considered "Christmas-like."

Nice view Dick. Can you imagine spending six days a week hand picking cotton boll by boll? Those were NOT the good old days.

Great capture to show how they grow. Your description of "flocked" evergreens really makes me smile.
