Description
Just playing a bit. Modeled and rendered in LW, haven't really started the texture work (too busy modeling more weapons). These props are going to be used in the sci-fi collaboration project "Expansion", with Franky, Obiwan and billy-home.
The largest one is the Hephaestus, a CISW (Combat Infantry Support Weapon) pronounced "seesaw", then some rifles (heavily inspired by the weapons of the Clone Army), particle accelerators, several shotguns, a few pistols, and some pocket blasters. Several of these weapons were designed by Franky.

Great modeling! Can't wait to see the textures you'll be adding! That big weapon reminds me of a weapon on the game Marathon Rubicon: if it's anything like it, watch out people!!!

Hey Moe, I always hear you talking about these collaborative efforts. Where can I see some of them. Are they posted here? These weapons are modeled very well!! Good Job.

Thanks, guys. Definitely not to terrorists, kylekwan... arms supplier only to virtual armies. I might post a spec sheet for each weapon one of these days. The large weapon was inspired by the one used by Vasquez in "Aliens", it gets some kind of an arm mounted to a harness to make it man portable. EvoX, you really think these would sell? We might get them into the MP after we're done playing with them for a while. "Expansion" teaser images are already out in Franky's gallery, dandavis. We're just setting up the history and background for the story's universe for now (while frantically building cities, vehicles, starships, sets, mechs, troops, droids, weapons and creatures). We don't want to fire it up till the necessary props are ready. :o) - Cheers! BTW - Did I mention that we are all peacemongers? (nothing like superior firepower to get that message across, lol!)

Great job moebius, as always. I only have one 'comment'... it looks like the guns aren't from the same time... same difference as the old AK47 and the newest M16... if u get my drift. This offcorse is no problem if ur goning for that.... but if it would be a squad with different weapons (but the same army) it might give a weird idea to the absorbing viewer, lol... but again great modeling

Fair call, Rinus, thanks! The weapons above are to be distributed to several warring corporate factions (in our story), with different technological approaches to weaponry. So far, these are all designed with the human form in mind. I'm trying to get weapon variants going for each "style", but still have a long way to go. :o) Thanks, everyone!!!

It is amazing what sheer volume can do to achieve a level of believability, considering that you have not really started on the texturing yet. Just kidding (sort of), the modeling is awe inspiring.

First of all, great render. Second I want every weapon there or a tut for it. Third Just GIVE ME THEM PLEASE I'm making a videogame and need some good wepaons for the street gangs ect ect. Yes it's years away but maybe I could use them in the models at least! lol.

oooh....guns, guns, guns.....(to quote Clarence Boddicker from Robo-cop...lol).....cool weapons and I'm pleased you did a version of the Smart Gun from Aliens....it's one of my favorites....hope you intend to do those as Poser props soon....would love to get my hands on a few of those for my figures...:-)

wow. that's some serious hardware. the details really make them seem as though they could be actual weapons. you have quite a skill for making futuristic objects/crafts seem believable. great work. this picture is great too, with all of them piled together. oh, and looks about my monitor res too, i'm going to wallpaper it. still the lightwave messiah hmm? ;)
