As always great. Was this the one that was also called the Brewster Buffalo?

Very interesting.

You couldn't have chosen a better plane for this superb render! The B-239s were the earliest, lightest and best model of the Buffalo which was called "Sky Pearl" to the Finns. The well trained Finnish pilots flew it with great success against the Soviets.

Superb work!!

The exploits of this aircraft against the Russians (and later the Germans) was extraoridinary. In air combat it had a victory ration of 26 to 1 and despite only 44 aircraft being delivered no less than 8 survived the five years of warfare and this with a lack of spare parts due to Finland fighting with the Reich for much of the time. Beautiful work, as we now expect, and the presentation of a large zoom is well appreciated. The pilot was obviously camera-shy, and worrying when travelling at such a speed (joking - sorry!).

clifftoppler says it all.... A remarkably successful aircraft in Finish pilots hands! An outstanding victory rate! Another great 3-way for me to drool over...lol Thanks so much... Rob

I remember reading an article in a military history magazine, that recalled an amusing story about the Brewster Buffalo, by a Finnish ace. Apparantly a fellow Finnish pilot was court-martialled for crashing one of these planes, when he attempted to use it as a "light transport", the Brewster had a large, roomy cockpit and the pilot concerned managed to stuff, himself and something like 8-9 people and their luggage into the plane, and just for good measure his dog! Unfortantely the rather severely overloaded Brewster didn't make the flight and crashed either during take off or when it tried to land, at any rate the Finnish Air Force, however seemed to have a sense of humor about the incident, as they cited the guilty pilot as the "commander of a light transport aircraft", rather the a "fighter pilot", when he was being tried.
