A friend recently challenged me to include my "little girl" in this image I made some months ago:
At first, I wasn't sure how I could do that because the original image was very "unreal" and my "little girl" is "real". Then I had the idea of creating a mirror somewhere in the scene, and the mirror would reflect the unreal as if it was real (the reflection would be real, I mean). I couldn't find a way to make it work like I had imagined so I dropped it (at least for now). Then I thought of having the unreal as the sky of the real (mirrored images too). That also didn't work quite right. Then I thought of a portal between the real and unreal versions of the scene. This is what worked best, I think, and so I kept it.
This is not a part of my series "Days of Awe" with the little girl, it's a kind of a detour on her journey.

Sort of reminds me of going to a theme park such as "The Enchanted Forest", where the real (you) meets the modeled world. A certain fascination about it.

Yes it definitely worked very well here, and I understand what you mean by the real and the unreal as I have to come up with these ideas all the time, in the art I chose to do with my animals living side by side within the unreal backgrounds and with unreal characters, I just love the challenge. I can see that you too loved the challenge your friend set you, and yes I really love how you achieved this, very well done!! To make it appear so natural too is the idea you had to have your beautiful little girl reach up toward the unreal fruit on the unreal tree!!! hugs Jane xx
