Foto scattata nella zona di Coltano ( PI ) Photo taken in the area of Coltano (PI) Nome comune: SPATOLA (Inglese: spoonbill) Nome scientifico: Platalea leucorodia Famiglia: Treschiornitidi (Threskiornithidae) Ordine: Ciconiformi (Ciconiiformes) Classe: Uccelli (Aves) CARATTERISTICHE: Questo slanciato uccello possiede un piumaggio bianco con delle sfumature gialle tra il lungo collo ed il petto, che si fanno particolarmente vivaci nella stagione degli amori. Evidente è il lungo becco a spatola, specializzato per setacciare le acque. Le zampe, come negli altri Ciconiformi, sono lunghe così da consentire un agile spostamento in acqua. La spatola è alta 80-90 cm, più della metà rappresentati dal corpo. L’apertura alare è di 115-130 cm. Il maschio è leggermente più grande della femmina. FEATURES: This has a slender bird with white plumage shades of yellow between long neck and chest, which are particularly lively during the mating season. Is evident Long-billed spoonbill, specialized to scour the waters. The legs, as in other Ciconiformi are long so as to enable an agile shift in water. The spatula is 80-90 cm high, more than half represented by the body. The wingspan is 115-130 cm. The male is slightly larger than the female. Questa è una immagine bella e interessante. Credo che non ho mai notato gli uccelli con le gambe lunghe volare sopra di me, perché io sono affascinato dalla posizione delle gambe. Mi ricordano i subacquei andare in acqua. Con queste spatole, vi è una bellezza elegante combinato con aria un po 'comico. Gli uccelli look eccellente contro il cielo azzurro e le nuvole. Buona giornata This is a beautiful and interesting image. I guess I've never noticed birds with long legs flying above me, because I'm fascinated by the position of their legs. They remind me of divers going into the water. With those spoonbills, there is a graceful beauty combined with a slightly comical air. The birds look excellent against the blue sky and clouds.
