I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Indeed yes! The trouble with dog-owners like me is that we imagine everything is as safe!
Cytisus
Great capture, but I would not get close enough to kiss that big a cat!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad I'm stumbling around on line again so I didn't miss this one. What a fuzzy, irresistable puss. :-)

Yes it is so hard to believe by looking at that soft sweet furry face, that we are actually looking at a large lion and killer cat! Amazing photography, and very sharp Carin, hugs Jane xx

A wonderful closeup.

Gimme a little kiss, will ya, huh What are you gonna miss, will ya, huh God show me why do you refuse I can't see what you've got to lose. Oh, gimme a little squeeze, will ya, huh Why do you wanna make me blue I wouldn't say a word if I were asking for the world But what's a little kiss between a fellow and his girl? Oh, gimme a little kiss, will ya, huh And I'll give it right back to you. (Eddy Arnold) Wow, that is close up, Carin! I bet her breath fogged your lens. Terrific colors and clarity in this shot, where even angels fear to tread.

Here kitty, kitty, kitty! Outstanding closeup but I'm glad you clarified how it was taken. I was about to ask if you were missing any body parts. And no, I won't kiss her. That mouth is the last thing a gazelle sees and besides she probably hasn't brushed her teeth in years.
orig_buggy
would love too!!!

Not even if she was asleep lol

Oh, this is lovely. The only cat I'd get this close to would be one who won't maul me...preferably a housecat who mauls Qtips and cotton balls and the occasional mouse. I once had a cat, Natasha, who had a habit of stalking the living room sofa at my grandmother's house. THAT was always fun to watch. When I see this, I realize that lions and housecats aren't all that different. Lions just need more meat and bigger kitty boxes, but they're as hard to domesticate as their diminutive, and cuddly cousins. This is a great shot and I'm amazed at your photographic Ninja skills. Okay, your Zoom, but still! WOW. And as for tourists getting out of cars for shots like this...are any of them up for the Darwin Award?
