Description

Captured 4/16/09, early on a Martian morning, around 38 million or so miles away. Actually, it really wasn't that far, and this is not the surface of Mars. These are instead various POV shots taken of the cracked parking lot of the local Chamber of Commerce, about a block from my place. Egad, is the city that poor that it can't afford to fix the pavement of their representative office? They're always paving over the streets and trimming the trees, etc., so why not....? Anyway, the images were color balance digifiddled for that "red planet" effect. The bottom foto shows the color as it really is on Earth. After all this serious stuff day after day, I gotta have some fun! Toodles, and thankx for popping in.

Meisiekind: No, I have a rotating LCD monitor on my camera which precludes me having to lie on my stomach to take these kind of low level photos.

Wow, looks mighty alien to me! Your top pictures have me sweating profusely. Some churches could buy your pictures and subtitle them with, "Don't wind up here!" Heh, heh... Nicely done and all for fun.

Oh Harry, I've got some catching up to do. First stop Mars! That could cause some delays. These are cool...no, hot. Anyway, they're wonderful, whatever the temperature. Great shots and postwork!

I must say, I'm not sure where this whole "ninja" thing came from, lol. Jodie mentions it, and I know others do too (Cheri kind of coined it for the chicago visit, and I know she's a great fan of yours too). Well I know it's about spying, and these are definitely spy shots. I frankly don't care about the "spying" part, though: I wanna know how the hell you managed to get up the same day: If I</> were shooting that low, I'd wind up camping out for a week--and not by choice! Another of your studies of the familiar, and the reds certainly bring out the other worldly quality as well as a feeling of Hell. (Bill got that!) I know it's Mars, but it's also pretty sinister! These really must be seen full view to get the impact of all that visual activity. And the bottom one brings us back to reality---but not too much, because it's still pretty other worldly. Another of your captures of the everyday where it becomes wholly new & strange. And it's a lot of fun, and proves that anything can make good photography if you're willing to see the picture "in" it. Really creative. Makes me not want to park there though, that's for sure!
