Description
Captured 10/8/09, early in the morning, about 1.8 miles/2.9 kms from my hectic haunt.
I discovered this arthritic and wizened old fella when returning from a foto shoot of fence knots, some of which I have already posted.
Since it has so many weird features, I really didn't know what to title this at first, so I took the easy way out.
The trunk looks like it had been first shredded, ala chipped beef, and then hastily glued back together again. Or perhaps it could be a wet towel that has been twisted and wrung out.
I angled the bottom photo in order to include most of the trunk.
Toodles, and thankx for taking the time to give us a gander.

This must be an assisted living establishment for very tired old trees. I'm sure this tree is living because of kind words spoken to it daily and an ever present cool drink of water when thirsty (I noticed the hose). I'll bet you made its' day by taking such fine photos of it. Does it have its' own Facebook page yet? Silly,...I know. Excellent Harry.

What an old beauty Harry! It certainly has many tales to tell and has probably given much joy (and shade) to many generations! You did it justice! :)

Hmmm, I wonder if it wandered out of Fangorn Forest???? It looks like it could live there. Great shots. It's a very cool tree.

The house reassures me I'm back on planet Earth, the tree...I'm not so sure. What a terrific find and capture! Amazing texture and shape. In the second one it looks like a face is glowering down at you. Maybe he wasn't so happy to have his picture taken! Wonderful shots! Thanks for sharing this peculiar tree!

There an old tree for sure! Wonder, in my 'the world is doomed' outlook of things, how much longer he'll be there! Before the folks who own the house that WASN'T there before they put it there, decide, its blocking the light a bit!.. Or they can't be bothered to sweep up anymore! So is the state of the world... Mighty fine picture, Harry! Rob
