Description

This idea was spawned from a dream (and since then grew somewhat like a tumor). In the dream, my home was somehow overtaken by a group of persons. They were apparently normal. And they didn't ask for anything in particular, they only behaved like they owned the place. If you tried to confront them, or simply to run away, they produced a large knife, and with a malevolent grin on their face they cut a wide, deep slit on one of their forearms. Then, from the insides of their hollowed bodies, a moltitude of... they were tiny human beings, I knew that but I never saw them, because they couldn't be seen with the naked eye... they swarmed from the wound, on board of tiny floating vehicles (speceships?) and in a couple of seconds they were upon you, entering your skin as it didn't exist, entering your body, eating their way up to your brain, where they finally took control of your self. This thing, this possessing force, was called VOX. In thew following days, this nasty idea began to brew and to grow in my head. Somewhat after the story told in the dream, somebody discovered the way to mass-produce and mass-market VOX. In particular, VOX was delivered in special VOX BOXES. One had simply to pull the tab on top to unleash the horrid force therein contained. VOX would leave its BOX, attack the nearest human, enter his or her body and consume it from the inside, to the point that, of the infected person, nothing else remained than an empty shell. Infected persons could of course spread the contagion themselves. Why should someone buy and use something like that? Well, firstly, for the KICK. Being exposed to a BOX VOX is to speedball like doing freebase cocaine is to eating a sugar-free candy. Then, if you contract a VOX infection from another person, the VOX will be tainted with that other person' self, so it will mess you up even more. VOX cultured in sterile labs is as destructive but not as tainting as "in-the-wild", or "secondary infection", VOX. Even if this is only a concretization of the mess I've in my head, the whole thing could maybe be read as some kind of satire on consumerism, where people are willing to pay good money for something that's poisoning, damaging to the environment and that will destory their free will, leaving them "not dead, yet nothing more than empty shells, nothing else than VOX". I concocted a magazine ad of the product. I'm not a graphics artist (and I'm afraid it shows), so it will obviously have a lot of problems. Nonetheless, I hope it will convey at least a part of the uneasyness and nausea that those thoughts afforded me. I've tried to convey the impression of a cheap, bad electric trip. Michael 4 is from DAZ, the Hazard Symbols should be in the public domain, and the light probe was included in Bryce. The other things (most notably the VOX BOX) are my work. Well, enjoy.

Are you entirely certain that it was only a dream? Are you for sure that YOU are not merely a shell full of VOX yourself? You seem to be doing a good job of promoting these things. Excellent image... and let us hope that this is entirely IMAGINARY!

Ow, don't scare me like thatm zescanner! "I quit, it's some time that I quitted harming myself... but now... now, after they've been inside of me again, again, AGAIN, I'd want to... cut myself, like they do, like the others do... I don't know why, maybe is to see if they pour out... if they pour out of me... but they are so tiny, they seep everywhere... you don't even know if they are really there... are they there or did they go away? It's something that drives me crazy, CRAZY I say... After that they, VOX, after that I've been possessed, I can't trust any more any... any instance of my being... every thought of mine, every desire, every sensation that gets to my... my head... it's something I can't trust any longer... and that repels me... just being makes me nauseous, makes me sick..." (it's the translation of a part of a brief piece of fiction I wrote to fix some of the sensations the dream gave me. It's creepily similar to what you were saying!) Anyhow, thanks for you comments, people!

What an incredible and gifted imagination! Perhaps you could even expand this into a screen play! Great work on the guy's malevolent expression- also the toxic icons are very well done! Very nice layout and design on this.

Incredible concept excellently presented. If this was a dream, I can't imagine what your nightmares are like.
