Description

This photo is horrible, I took it with my cell phone camera. I took many other shots with a "real" camera, but... none of them seemed to end up in the memory stick! All lost! However, I like the subject very much. I was recently subjected to an urgent albeit simple surgical operation. The shot shows what I was seeing from my hospital bed by simply turning my head left. It is, in case you didn't recognize it, Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, and the building is the baptitstery. Just like that. I could behold that miracle of marble and human ingeniousness all day long, as nurses swapped the bottles that were plugged into my blood circulation system: It was quite inspiring, and undeniably magic. It was surreal, in a way. (Pity for the lost pictures, they showed other dreamy landscapes, like a view of the baptistery, the ancient city walls and the mountains in the distance, all bathed in a golden December light. It felt like I was looking at a dreamland from this place of pain and bravery). On the plus side, I didn't pay a dime for the entire tratement (urgent surgery, anesthesia, and ecography, blood tests, antibiotics and pain relievers - all dispensed by our mighty National Sanitary Service!). And the paramedics: they worked very hard, yet were always gentle and patien, and even capable of joking and keeping up yor spirits. An enlightening experience. However, here's the challenge: I challenge you to find and photograph a better hospital bed view!

I'm perfectly fine, thanks, they just took out a little, useless thing that got clogged with bad stuff... Thanks for viewing and commenting.
