Description

This was part of the lighting apparatus at a stage near Millenium Park in Chicago. I don't even remember exactly where I was when I took this--under some part of it.

Wonderful shot. From a distance this thing looks like an exploded aluminum can, but the closer up you get to it the better it looks. I remember riding on the el from work every day a few years ago and I saw this thing under construction...it took a long time to get accustomed to it because from a distance, it looks unfinished, rather like a doodle that someone lost interest in doodling...but here...WOW! You caught so much of what it's really good at showing visitors...that close-up eye-friendly mass of aluminum! Fantastic work and I love the sense of color here!

For my part, this image has taken a good five minute stare:) Shapes and colors are excellent, stage lights are recognizable but the rest is a voyage into the unknown. A former Chicago resident I know described the design in the same way chipka does above...an exploding tin can. Excellent POV for such a unique structure.

Wow, there's something about this that really draws me; perhaps the colors, the textures, the light, the shadow, I don't know! But it makes me want to reach out and touch it. Well done!

I'm ready for my closeup, Mister DeMille. A madcap display of wayward stage apparatus you captured here, Maz! Don't forget to visit my "Mirrored Building #3" I uploaded today.

I also stared awhile. In the end, it made me think of Jazz. The energetic music, the shining horns and the shadows of a darkly lit club. It would probably nudge my mind in other directions if I stared longer. It is an amazing abstract, full of life and variance. Beautiful!
